Project
The White Garden.
Private client · Garden design · Planting · Project delivery
Transforming an underused space into a layered, planting-led garden designed for relaxation, entertaining, and year-round interest.
The result is a garden that feels grounded, balanced and entirely appropriate to its setting.
Design
The design is being shaped around the relationship between house, garden and wider landscape, using structure, alignment and enclosure to create a framework that feels natural to the setting.
Long views, approach and sequence have been central to the design thinking, allowing the garden to unfold as part of a broader composition rather than as a series of separate elements.
Planting, materials and spatial arrangement are being developed in support of that structure, so the final garden will feel calm, grounded and properly connected to the character of the estate.
Direction
A landscape formed through setting, structure and view.
As the design develops, the intention is to create a garden that feels inseparable from the house and its wider landscape setting — ordered, enduring and quietly expressive.
The project is being resolved with a strong emphasis on proportion, movement and long-term coherence, so that each part of the garden contributes to a larger and more settled whole.
The aim is not to impose a garden on the site, but to form one that belongs fully to the house, the land and the way the property will be lived in over time.
